picture idea
This is one of my idea about how to have the layout. The sky will have an animation map showing the the route that 'on the road took. The sign post's will show clip of the state and at the end the final sign will say on the road.
New idea
As the car is driving along, part of the places visited are sin in videos of the road signs

Font idea
The font that I have choosen for the project is Highway Gothic. This is the font used in America and there sign posts.
Idea
When thinking about the feeling of travel, i began to think about how it is an never ending cycle, no matter how far someone travels, there is still somewhere else still to travel. An idea is to represent this idea in a round sun.
sky idea
This is an picture that i edited in photoshop. I used a single strip of pixels to create this. When looking at the ordinal picture, i like the colour of the sky. I also like the composition of the picture, the sky being 2 thirds of the picture. It creates the feeling of openness.
Sky
The title sequence i want to have a big focus on the sky. The sky should be quite empty. This creates the impression of openness and freedom

The idea that I have got at the moment is not interesting or creative enough. To advance the project to the next level I am going to research speed. Based on the novel, the title sequence should be something that flow, like a dream or feel hypnotic.
FOCUS ON THE FEEL.
It sequence should be smooth and feel like it is winding on like the scroll goes, and like traveling on the highway.

The way the rough draft was created
This rough draft was created using footage i had filmed while driving in a car. The footage gave a feel of how movement. It was very shaky. Also the sound of the engine added to the feel of movement.
I would not however use live footage like this to create my final piece. The reason for this it will need to be motion tracked to the footage. The image will to change perspective and how close they are to the camera when driving along. This will be very hard to do using motion tracking and will not look as good as creating a stage set.
Another reason for not using real footage is finding it from America. I would not be able to film it myself and would have to rely on footage from the internet and films.
My idea for the way of creating the final piece will be using apple motion. I will create a floor and backdrop in photoshop. I will also edit images in Photoshop then import all the layers into Apple Motion. The layers will be stacked in a 3D environment. A camera will then run along a road picture on floor which will then look like it going along a road.

The program is about a celebrity in America recreating the route based on the story ‘On The Road.’ The celebrity will visited all of the places that the character of Sal visited in the story.
Programme Demographic
The target audience for the programme will be for people that are interested in travel, people that want to learn about new culture and people that are generally interested in America.
Mood/Theme/Idea/Concept
The Mood of the program will be upbeat and give the sense of fulfillment as the celebrity experiences all of these new places.
The theme of program will be a non traditional epic travel experience, a lot like the story.
